Jean-Baptiste Ponsot is the third generation to run this small estate in Rully farming sustainably without any pesticides and rigorous working in the vineyards. His En Bas de Vauvry is an old meadow in the heart of the Premier Cru area, bought by his grandfather in 1910 but only planted by Jean-Baptiste and his father between 2000 and 2009 with both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The soil is brown limestone with lots of stones, whose minerality is carried in this delicious white. Fermented in oak and aged nine further months this has plenty of depth and length and is drinking beautifully.
