Schlossgut Diel Goldloch Riesling Kabinett 2019 Nahe
A delicious Kabinett from a Grand Cru site in the Nahe region
Schlossgut Diel based in Dorsheim in the Nahe region has been in the family since 1802. With a oenology degree under her belt and having worked around the world Caroline Diel returned to her family estate in 2006. Finally taking full control in 2019 with help from her French husband Sylvain Taurisson who looks after the marketing.
Caroline farms three Grand Crus, Grosse Lages, one of which is the steep, (45-55%) gravelly vineyard of Goldloch. We love her Kabinett from here, delightful off dry yellow fruits with a mineral core and perfect acid balance. She is a Kabinett specialist sometimes making as many as 10 differing versions- the Kabinett Queen according to her husband Sylvain!
These just off dry Rieslings work beautifully with food, oriental food in particular but also perfect with Dover Sole.
