Agustin Lanus Sunal Salvaje Pucara Malbec 2019
A stunning Malbec from a single site 2400m up in Argentina's Salta region. No oak is used to highlight the complex fruit flavours and structure.
Agustin Lanus' Sunal wines are all sourced from extreme altitude vineyards. The high altitude reduces the yield, producing grapes with thicker skins with complex phenolics and the longer gowing season gives more complex fruit flavours and a better balance of acidity. The wines are all fermented in concrete to highlight the individuality of their terroirs
This comes the Pucara vineyard situated 2400m up in Agastaco in Salta the fruit is fermented and aged for a year in concrete eggs.
Deep colour in the glass and a powerful plummy figgy dark berry fruited nose with notes of dark chocolate. Deep mulberry fruit with herbs and minerals and fresh acidity, very long and impressive.
