This excellent red Mercurey comes from old vines and is drinking beautifully.
Domaine Chartron which dates from 1941 own 11.5 hectares in Mercurey in the Côtes Chalonnaise. The estate is run but Vincent Chartron with help from his Father Jean-Pierre.
Their Vielles Vignes comes from several parcels with an average age of 50 years. The wine is aged in oak for 10 months 25-30% new oak.
The wine is impressive and powerful with attractive fruit and plenty of length
