Antech Émotion Crémant de Limoux Rosé 2021
Maison Antech based in Limoux in the Languedoc dates from the 19th century. Due to the boom in demand for the local Blanquette de Limoux in the 1970’s brothers Georges and Roger Antech decided to concentrate on the production of sparkling wine. They were joined by George’s daughter Françoise who now makes the wines. Because the wine is made with Chardonnay and Chenin, rather than the local Mauzac grape, this cannot be called Blanquette thus it is labelled Crémant.
Their Crémant de Limoux Rosé called Émotion is made from Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Mauzac and colour from Pinot Noir. After bottle fermentation it rests on its lees for 18 months before it is disgorged. Dry with a creamy richness and red fruits to the fore this is very attractive and good value too.
